Jammu, Aug 8: The Floriculture Parks and Gardens Department of Jammu carried out a series of planting and cleanliness campaigns in government educational institutions on Monday.

The Dirves were organized in collaboration with the School Education Department of Jammu in GhouManhasan Government Higher Secondary School, GhouManhasan Government Middle School, Muthi Government Secondary School, Satwari Government Higher Secondary School, Government Secondary School, Satwari Cantt and Government Satwari Middle School.

More than 1100 plants of different species were planted as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations.

The planting and cleaning campaign was carried out under the supervision and guidance of S. Jatinder Singh, Director Floriculture Parks and Gardens Jammu.

The planting and cleaning campaign was carried out around these schools in the presence of Sunil Singh, Deputy Director Floriculture Jammu; Vikrant Kumar Sharma, Jammu Floriculture Manager; Ranjana Kumari, Principal of Government Middle School GhouManhasan; Swarn Lata, principal of Muthi Government Secondary School; Atul Sharma, Lakshmi and Rakesh Kumar Sharma Assistant Floriculture Officers, other staff and passionate students.

Speaking on the occasion, the head of floriculture said that such planting campaigns in schools not only provide a sustainable environment, but also recharge the groundwater level after a few years.
