It is suspected that Rahman was suffocated with a pillow. Paramedics and security officers responded to the area where drugs, a bottle of alcohol and a pillow were found next to him.
Rahman remained unidentified until last Wednesday evening when a family member contacted RUSA to report a missing person.
When the photo was forwarded to the officer in charge of the case, the deceased was immediately identified. Rahman’s 2018 BMW 320D M Sport metallic gray model has also been reported missing. The vehicle registered as NUR 66050 has tinted windows and several stripes on the panels. The engine number is 65115210 and the VIN number is WBA5C56000NV15109.
According to Rahman’s wife, an unidentified man arrived at Verulam SAPS on Monday morning and attempted to retrieve his body.
RUSA chief Prem Balram said: “The man, believed to be one of the killers, identified himself as the deceased’s brother but left the police station in a hurry when questioned about his identity.”

Rahman’s wife believes the killers are known to the family because she received several messages from the deceased’s phone after his murder.
